Hey Jack, I’m Dylan, a recent Falmouth grad. My work lives between design, motion and code. I treasure the problem-solving approach from programming when combined with design. Using code as a tool to generate moving visual solutions, build up interactive brands and create custom software never gets old.

EmergentX, a venture studio with expertise in emerging tech, were looking for a moving visual language for their new blockchain protocol that allows for the tokenization of real world assets. The core concept of the motion was to reflect the ability to submit and redeem digital contracts by showing assets pixelate as they enter the network, then reassemble as they are retrieved. I also worked on a web app that lets the team to create their own visuals from image or object files, enabling play, iteration and exploration.

We designed an identity for the Cornish production company Bosena, whose work explores the craft, and appreciation of film as a cultural act. The identity itself is heavily inspired by the intricacies of Celtic weaving and knotwork, aspiring to create a cohesive visual that not only reinforces Bosena's holistic approach to the art of film, but encourages traditional cultural iconography; a reminder of the 'true' origins of the company itself.

This was the first GUI I created while learning to developing a larger, more complex system. Moving away from coding in Java, I practiced p5.js by creating this short project. It was super fun to explore the functional and creative applications of a GUI using p5.js.

Working with EmergentX's design team we created a motion video informing people about their new ERC-7578 blockchain technology. We crafted a dynamic suite of motion graphics that conceptually explore the intricate intersection between blockchain technology, asset tokenisation, and real-world application.

Starting with a 3d Rhino render; I created a series of simple and precise technical drawings of a Polaroid camera for Matthew Jones which he wanted to use for the main illustration style on the upcoming camera packaging.

Over summer I worked with Craig to help him organise the json files for his upcoming release 'Composit' an app encouraging discovery though colour and the eclectic nature of design. Additionally, I worked on designing, testing and providing feedback on the onboarding and the app's workflow.

It was a real treat to contribute to Rob Peart's creative practice, Testbed. I was able to work across multiple projects and areas from creating GUI workflows, bespoke design tools and digital layouts.
